Create personalized gifts for all the dragon lovers you know! Each letter (and number) of this dragon alphabet is cleverly paired with a tiny dragon of its own. They can be stitched together as a set, or done individually as monograms. Also includes the numbers from 0-9, and an apostrophe. These designs call for backstitching, partial stitches, and French knots.
The dragon alphabet design, stitched as a complete piece, measures 100 stitches wide by 120 stitches high. If you use the letters individually, they measure 19 stitches high. It is printed in a multi-page leaflet, with a color picture of the completed design on the cover. The chart is graphed in black and white symbols. A table showing the DMC colors you'll need is included. The pattern is printed over 2 pages in the center, so there is no need to match page edges. These dragon letters and numbers cross stitch designs were created by Jennifer L. Aikman-Smith, of Dragon Dreams.
How much fabric do I need?
To calculate the amount of fabric you will need for your project, divide the number of stitches by the stitch count of the fabric you wish to use. The higher the count of your fabric, the smaller your piece will be. Some examples appear below. Remember to leave several additional inches as a border on each side, to facilitate framing your project when it is finished.
Fabric count | Approximate size of stitched area |
---|---|
14-count | 7 ¼" × 8 ½" |
18-count | 5 ½" × 6 ¾" |
25-count | 4" × 4 ¾" |

I love this Dragon Alphabet cross stitch pattern book. For anyone who is into dragons having an object personalized with your name or initial with a dragon is fantastic. I own many Dragon Dreams patterns and am thrilled I was able to purchase the alphabet book from Gryphon's Moon. I have used this alphabet for years since it was first printed but lost my original copy and was devastated that I no longer could personalized all sorts of items. Even though it is a cross stitch pattern I have converted it to working with other mediums like beads or painting in a grid. Even if you do not do any type of needle work, I would still as a Dragon Lover purchase the Dragon Alphabet Cross Stitch Pattern for the front cover to frame as a picture.
