From the Artist: Kirby Leary
The illusive creatures that dwell in the realm of Fantasy have always intrigued me. In an effort to capture them and bring them into reality, I have explored many mediums: oil paint, porcelain, stoneware, silk paint, acrylics and watercolors. Without a doubt, I feel that the luminous quality of watercolors best achieves my goals. When I dip my sable brush into crystal clear water and then into Dr. Martin's Hydrus watercolors, a bit of magic begins to happen.
I paint my images on Archus 300# hot press paper- a very inspiring surface, where liquid colors flow, merge, and layer beautifully. It has been a great pleasure to paint my fanciful characters for you. When you view them, I hope they give you pleasure too.
