Treehugger. Forest friend. Wood witch. The names are varied, but the meaning is the same-- some of us just feel an undeniable kinship with the trees. Is it that way for you, too? Are you more at home in a forest than you are between four walls? If so, perhaps this lovely oval tree ring is exactly what you have been looking for.
Deeply rooted, but striving upward to the very heavens, the Tree of Life is a bridge between worlds, and a reminder of the connection between the seen and unseen.
That's larger than most of the rings I wear. Is it heavy?
Not at all! The filigree styling and low profile mean that it is as light as a feather. You're likely to forget that you are wearing it... until you glance down and see it gleaming on your finger.
What is the Tree of Life?
The Tree of Life is as close to a universal symbol as you can get. Just about every culture around the globe has its version. In Norse mythology, it is the Yggdrasil, with its branches and roots spreading and connecting the nine worlds. The Mayans, too, had legends of a great tree that connected Heaven, Earth, and the Underworld. To the Celts, it was "crann bethadh" - the embodiment of shelter and safety, connecting each tribe to the larger world, and also serving as a portal to hidden realms. Indeed, there are so many tales from so many cultures, it isn't possible to list them all here. The great Tree of Life can be found in all of them, though, sharing its strength and wisdom with those who seek it.
