Mother Nature Altar -
In the modern world, with so much of our lives encompassed by four walls and a roof, it is easy to lose touch with the natural world. This type of altar serves to remind us that no matter how hectic the rat race is, we are still only a few steps from the arms of Mother Nature. The centerpiece is a large piece of driftwood, draped with an artificial ivy vine. The Goddess figure in the center has a pattern of vines and leaves on her lower half. She is rooted in the physical plane, but lifts her arms up to connect with the spiritual world. Candles, especially green for vegetation and blue for blue skies, are always a nice touch. Pendants don't need to be hidden away in a jewelry box when they aren't being worn. Here, we've placed a Goddess pendant on one side of the altar, and a Greenman pendant on the other, creating a nice masculine/feminine balance. Although silk flowers stay fresh year round, if you can find a few fresh flowers as well, they certainly add a nice touch. Even the lowly dandelion or daisy lights up a room when tucked into a small vase. The stones at the front of the altar are aventurine, jasper, and hematite, representing the Maiden, Mother, and Crone.

I have seen a few altars since I have been following th Wiccan path and I must admit this is the most natural as well as beautiful of any of them.

This is a simple, yet beautiful altar. Out of all the altars shown this is the one that caught my eye. Not cluttered as my own is LOL.

And if you don't have driftwood, a bonsai tree works great with this too.
