"Céad Míle Fáilte" is an Irish phrase meaning "a hundred thousand welcomes", and what could be better for welcoming friends and neighbors to your door? It's a lovely expression of hospitality that's as Irish as can be. Framed by Celtic knots, hearts, and shamrocks, these words of greeting are as beautiful as they are heartfelt.
The 100,000 Welcomes Cross Stitch Pattern, from designer Joan Elliott, measures 116 stitches wide by 155 stitches high. The cross stitch pattern spans 4 pages, and is printed single-sided, on unbound sheets in a clear plastic bag for protection. There is a color picture of the completed chart on the front page. The pattern itself is graphed in black and white symbols, and a table showing the DMC colors you'll need is included.

How much fabric do I need?
To calculate the amount of fabric you will need for your project, divide the number of stitches by the stitch count of the fabric you wish to use. The higher the count of your fabric, the smaller your piece will be. Some examples appear below. Remember to leave several additional inches as a border on each side, to facilitate framing your project when it is finished.
| Fabric count | Approximate size of stitched area |
|---|---|
| 14-count | 15 ¾" × 11 ¾" |
| 18-count | 12 ¼" × 9" |
| 25-count | 8 ¾" × 6 ½" |
