This intriguing Celtic cross pendant radiates a sense of strength and purpose. Do you feel it? Wherever you are in your spiritual journey, this amazing piece of jewelry will touch your soul, and instill a feeling of comfort and calm.
For many, the four equal arms of the cross represent the four corners of the earth, and the encompassing circle is seen either as a symbol of eternity, or as a ring of shelter and protection.
Is this an example of a solar cross?
There are certainly many parallels between the two symbols. Their basic shapes are nearly identical, although the Celtic cross tends to rest above the circle, rather than contained within it. We know for sure that the solar cross pre-dates the arrival of Christianity in Celtic lands. In fact, it seems to be a strangely universal symbol, appearing in many cultures and time periods across the globe. There are legends that connect the Celtic version of the cross to Saint Patrick, who is said to have re-interpreted the meaning of the much older solar cross as he sought to convert the pagan population of Ireland to Christianity.
Is this pendant meant to be worn by men or women?
Like most of our jewelry, this design is unisex. If you love it, you should wear it!
