Smudging vs. Smoke Cleansing:

Across the globe, many cultures have used the smoke rising from burning aromatic herbs in rituals. Though often used interchangeably, the terms "smoke cleansing", "smoke bathing" and "smudging" have distinct meanings. Smoke cleansing or bathing refers to the broader practice of using herb smoke for purifying and protection. Smudging, a term deeply rooted in Native American and Indigenous cultures, denotes specific sacred rituals. As such, we try to avoid the use of the term "smudging", and we encourage our customers to make a conscious choice of what they call this practice.

The Cedar Herb Bundle is made of sustainably sourced cedar twigs and needles, hand-tied into a neat bundle.

It measures 4” long, and can be extinguished and re-lit, so that it can be used on multiple occasions.
