More than any other Greek goddess, Hecate is associated with magic and witchcraft. She stands guard over boundaries and crossroads, in the liminal spaces where power lies. In her form as a three-fold goddess, Hecate turns her all-encompassing gaze to every corner of the world, and beyond, flanked by twin serpents twining about her feet.

For many people, Hecate is seen as an ambiguous figure who moves confidently across boundaries, in a constant state of flux, or "between-ness". If you feel like events in your life have left you adrift or marginalized, the Silver Hecate Pendant may have a place of particular importance as your personal talisman.

Is Hecate good or evil?
Neither, exactly. She is a primal force, that appears in times of change and upheaval. Childbirth, moving, illness, or loss- all fall under her purview, and while any of those may indeed feel like the end of the world to one who is experiencing it, such a disruption can be a blessing in disguise, opening up new pathways and possibilities.

What is Hecate holding in her hands?
Hecate is almost always depicted with a pair of torches in her hands. In this pendant, they appear in her lowest pair of arms. In one Greek myth, she uses her torches to guide Persephone to and from the underworld. She is also commonly shown with knives, keys, and other symbols of magic.

The Hecate Pendant is cast from sterling silver.

It has a diameter of approximately 1 1/8"

This pendant comes ready to wear on an 18" sterling silver chain.
