If you've never seen a rainbow moonstone in person, I can only say that pictures, no matter how detailed, can't possibly capture the flashes of color this stone reveals as it is turned in the light. It is nothing short of magical!
The star of this unusual pentacle is formed from tiny Celtic knots known as "triquetras". These triangular knots radiate outward from the moonstone cabochon in the center, giving the pendant an open and ethereal feel.
What gemstone lore is associated with moonstone?
Above all else, moonstone is associated with lunar magic and feminine energies. In some cultures, it was thought to be formed from actual moonbeams striking the earth. Moonstone has a connection to all goddesses, but as might be expected, the bond is particularly strong with moon goddesses.
Moonstone is said to enhance intuition and clarify the emotions. It has a soothing, healing energy that many find to be very calming. Throughout the ages, it has been known as a stone for lovers, promoting harmony and passion.
Who designed this pendant?
The design for this pendant is the creative work of the artisan Paul Borda. Paul works in various mediums, but typically, his creations start as wood carvings. This is a process that can take hundreds of hours, as he works to draw forth his vision from the block of wood. Once that is complete, he works with skilled jewelers who are able to translate his work into sterling silver.
