The text for this minimalist cross stitch pattern reads simply, "In my defense, the moon was FULL and I was unsupervised." And really, is there any better excuse (for anything!) than that? This sassy sentiment is sure to appeal to anyone who feels the pull of the moon deep down in their soul. Sometimes you just need to throw back your head and howl... or dance in the moonlight... or go wherever your lunacy leads you.
The design for this moon lover's cross stitch pattern measures only 120 stitches wide by 92 stitches high, and uses only two colors of floss, making it ideal for beginner stitchers. The pattern is printed on a single sheet of cardstock. The front has a photo of the finished design. The back has a large easy to read graph in black and white symbols with stitch count and DMC symbol and color information.
How much fabric do I need?
To calculate the amount of fabric you will need for your project, divide the number of stitches by the stitch count of the fabric you wish to use. The higher the count of your fabric, the smaller your piece will be. Some examples appear below. Remember to leave several additional inches as a border on each side, to facilitate framing your project when it is finished.
Fabric count | Approximate size of stitched area |
---|---|
14-count | 8 ½" × 6 ½" |
18-count | 6 ¾" × 5" |
25-count | 4 ¾" × 3 ¾" |
