This black cat sitting on his window ledge seems supremely indifferent to the fleet of UFO's and their tractor beams. As long as he gets fed on time, he isn't going to waste time worrying about some aliens in the back yard. Who knows. Maybe he'll even take a joy ride with them later on. Avid stitchers and cat-lovers who also find monsters and cryptids downright irresistible are going to adore the "What the Cat Saw..." series of cross stitch patterns.

The design measures 87 stitches square. The pattern is printed in leaflet form on cardstock. The front has a color photo of the finished design. The actual pattern is charted using colored squares as well as symbols for clarity. Stitch count and DMC symbol and color information are included.

This is a pattern for counted cross stitch. It is not a complete kit. You will need to supply your own fabric and floss.

How much fabric do I need?
To calculate the amount of fabric you will need for your project, divide the number of stitches by the stitch count of the fabric you wish to use. The higher the count of your fabric, the smaller your piece will be. Some examples appear below. Remember to leave several additional inches as a border on each side, to facilitate framing your project when it is finished.

Fabric count Approximate size
of stitched area
14-count 6 ¼" × 6 ¼"
18-count 4 ¾" × 4 ¾"
25-count 3 ½" × 3 ½"
